I am happy to realize we live in the same area, which means I have you as my guide! (Thumbs up)

Thanks to you, I now have a new favourite restaurant. The sushi here has been consistently good. The preparation is fine and fish is always fresh. It's a little more pricier than some of the neighboring places that are run like factories, but given the smaller (ma & pa) operation and good attention to details, we find the higher cost well worth it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1524766856706642380.post-41891898869420977952010-05-25T07:27:44.671-07:002010-05-25T07:27:44.671-07:00Oh, I totally agree. However, given the local expectations and views of what type of food is found here in a Japanese restaurant, it can be a negative for some people. For me, I don't really care about the cooked stuff anyways.Sherman Chanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07658949865479421864noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1524766856706642380.post-49606069604798344222010-05-25T02:18:24.235-07:002010-05-25T02:18:24.235-07:00Bias being put aside, because my friend's fami...Bias being put aside, because my friend's family actually owns the restaurant. It is strictly sushi which I believe are common in Japan, same with Robata restaurants. So I wouldn't say it is a bad thing if it doesn't have a lot of cooked food.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1524766856706642380.post-90407747929860710052010-05-22T22:05:59.292-07:002010-05-22T22:05:59.292-07:00Trisha, pressed sushi can be good. On that note, Shima-Ya also have box pressed sushi! OK, it does not matter it is in Burnaby North, I have to give it a try! :PKimHohttp://imonlyhereforthefood.comnoreply@blogger.com
