McDonald's McCafé Festive Beverage Giveaway

Wow, it's been awhile since McDonald's has contacted me about anything. I guess it had something to do with my indifference to the Angus burgers? Well, give them props for dropping me a line to try their new McCafé festive beverages. Actually... I've already tried them prior because they were like only $1.00 each (not anymore tho...)! And... Well, the Peppermint Mocha is pretty good. Viv has been actually getting them every time she has a chance. Essentially a mocha topped with whipped cream and mini-candy cane-like thingys on top, the drink is sweet, but not too sweet. I could still taste the coffee while the mint flavours make it almost refreshing. I'm not that much of a coffee drinker, but I don't mind it. Could be due to the fact it is not hard-core coffee. Is it better than other gourmet coffees? Well, not really a fair comparison is it? Let's just say, I'd drink it again. As for the Hot Chocolate, it is more of a sweet drink than anything. Not bad, but I actually would prefer a coffee hit to balance the sweetness. Of course the kiddies might prefer the hot chocolate. Oh, and yes, there is a giveaway here. Leave a comment of sorts with your first name and last initial and by 12:01am Monday, I'll draw a winner for a $25 McDonald’s Gift Card, McCafé branded travel mug, Be My Guest cards and chocolate covered espresso beans!

I tried it myself, and I thought it was quite bitter. Maybe it was just a bad patch. Either way I'll like to enter the contest :)
Since I eat Mcdonald's food, I believe I should drink McDonald's drinks.
Reading your blog daily now, Sherman. Keep up the fine work! Hope you've had a chance to check out our blog, Yummy In Our Tummies =)

@sly93 Yah I don't disagree with you there because my wife has had it several times and it has come out different every time. This time it came out pretty good with just enough sweetness to balance things out...
Keep up the taste adventure!

Thanks for the information, I will order this next time.
I don't hesitate to buy McDonald's coffee because it's actually pretty good...especially when you want something "lighter" than Starbucks.

hot chocolate is awesome in the winter. :)

Anything with peppermint is good
Hi Sherman..... I'd also like to enter the contest. Generally these drinks tend to be super sweet so I guess that is to be expected. I'd still like to try it though.
Good Stuff.

i don't like McD's food, but do pick up my first cuppa there every day, as it is cheap but great coffee. only tried peppermint mocha as a sample before and i concur with you, it is not too sweet. - Vera Y.

I also tried the peppermint mocha because it was only $1.
I actually like McD's coffee and helped myself to a couple of free ones when they had their coffee promo.
I think their promos worked on me because I started to go to McD's again after avoiding it for a long time.

oooo i've yet to try their new drinks!
If you had to choose between Starbucks Blenz or McDonald's mocha...which one? Kathryn S
Haven't tried their holiday drinks yet, but it looks good!
Angela Z.
It ain't Starbucks, or Moka House...but it ain't $4 a cup either! I'd buy one for $1 :) I appreciate the 'not too sweet' factor too...in fact, I usually go for a Tim's French Vanilla, but get them to full it with half coffee/half Fr. Vanilla.
McD's always reminds me of walking home after school from jr high. We had one 2 blocks away. Danger Danger! I'll always have a soft spot for Filet O Fishes, and fries with McChicken sauce. Thanks for the giveaway!

Never too old for Mc Donalds!
@Kathryn I'd actually say McD's because I think Starbucks is too strong.
@Jacinda Too bad they're not $1.00 anymore!
Loving your blog. These perks make it even better.

I'm very curious to try these!

I like your blog -- read and refer to it all the time. Thank you for the giveaway!
comment comment lol
I love McD's (I know it's bad) but I haven't tried their McCafe drinks yet. It's hard to really like it or dislike it since it's different every time at every location, even if you're having it for the 10th time at the same location.

The last time I tried a specialty drink from McDonald's, I found it way too sweet but I haven't tried anything new this year yet. I'd be more inclined to try with a gift card though!
